Naval and Marine buttons

I got some buttons that look to be civil war era naval and marine buttons. The bigger button is similar to some civil war naval buttons I've seen but that lighter metal in the center on the back is odd. The rest of them look like naval/marine buttons but they're quite small and I couldn't find an exact match online.

The large Navy button is real, but as already mentioned the shank was removed and it was made into a hat pin (done rather frequently), the long pin now itself broken off or removed. Evans began using that backmark in the 1860's, but given the fluke of the anchor being in front of the eagle's wing, the button is likely post-Civil War. Backmarks on the smaller buttons are almost all post-war also. The little Marine button top center has a backmark that Scovill did begin using in the 1860's, but used it long afterwards also so impossible to date precisely.

What's the deal with the smaller buttons? Are they cuff buttons?

Welcome, enjoy

The Scovill marine button actually seems to have Scovills etched on the back, but I don't think the rest is legible other than the separating dots.

If it is Scovills, then that would be pre-CW, 1840's to 1850's. If Scovill Mfg Co and stars, 1860's and later.Hard to make out and I'm having trouble matching it exactly to any of the Scovill backmarks Tice lists on small Marine buttons or pictures in the Scovill backmark section.

I think it has Scovills on the back, then it seems to have a shorter word that's not legible after Scovills, then star, space, star.
