This is a 1/9th scale bust by Nuts Planet depicting a pro-Union Indian from the Oklahoma territory. Painted in acrylics and oils.

Excellent job with the flesh tones, and the overall painting is superb, but I have a problem with his carbine. Do you know the history of the unit he represents? I find it hard to believe that he would have been issued a Sharps carbine. I would think them Government would have issued him a second-class weapon. This is not a criticism of your work; I just find it odd that the government would have issued a front-line weapon to a tribal member out on the frontier.

I tend to agree as to arms.

Here's opinion of Fort Scott Bulletin of Native Home Guard. It's rather hard to see them being priority for arms.

"their principal use is to devour Uncle Sam's hard-bread and beef, and spend his money. They will be as valuable as a flock of sheep in time of action."

No idea where the sculptor got the idea for the Sharps. Maybe artistic license.
