While it is not nearly as awesome as some recent acquisitions that have been posted -- especially @UCVRelics -- I was very fortunate to find a very nice collection that a widow wanted to sell to a collector who would keep it intact and appreciate it like her husband. The other recent posts inspired me to post it. It is a little eclectic but overall a very nice set of artifacts and relics. The foundation of the collection is a large number of dug relics from the lower Shenandoah Valley that are all tagged by date and location by the digger and going back to the 60s. That relic hunter basically bequeathed that collection to the widow's husband. He built around that, mostly non-dug. Plus books, documents, etc. And a smattering of WW2 items. There are a couple of personal archives, including a USCT captain. This represents the lifetime digging and collecting efforts of two different collectors. I am proud and humbled to be the new caretaker.

Very nice indeed, congratulations on a very nice acquisition.

Wow! That's very nice and I very cool collection.

I'm especially intrigued by the display of the Colt (I assume it's a Colt) pocket pistol and what is is resting on. Could you take a close up picture and post it?
Yes, it is an M1849 Colt Pocket. It is still packed away as Mrs. Pratt and I have not yet come to terms on where and how it will be displayed. 🙄
