More USCT questions

Hi everyone, two more questions I had for the experts.
1) Were USCT brigaded together? Or did they tend to space out the units amongst white brigades?
2) Were USCT more weighted towards the Eastern or Western theaters? Or no meaningful difference in service?
3) There were clearly tremendous acts of bravery and sacrifice, with Fort Wagner and the Crater being two of the most famous examples. But, if you were to look at the statistics, were USCT utilized as combat troops to the same degree as white regiments? (I imagine initially they weren't) Or did an outsized percentage of them serve in backwater garrison or labor duties, even in the last months of the war?

Happy Holidays,
Michael
