In about 1619, enslaved Africans are believed to have arrived in the American Colonies, most likely in Virginia. Soon after the institution of Slavery was Legalized in the Colonies.

Life at War for People of Color (1861-1865)
For some slaves nothing changes during the war years, life goes on as they serve their master. For others, they find safety on a new "secret railroad". Some Blacks find comfort in the fit of a Government Issued Uniform, others find that the Uniform doesn't fit so well.
