Morale - pick a date

If you could poll the Union populace every day of the war with the question - should the war continue or should we make peace?

Pick a date during the 4 years where that sentiment dial would be most in favor of the peace option.

I would pick 1/1/1863, after news of Fredericksburg is disseminated across the Union, a new year strikes and people ask, what are we doing this for? But would love to hear other thoughts on the Union "lowpoint"

Another strong candidate would be December, 1861. The blockade was not effective, Bull Run had been a disaster, the militia/90-day men had gone home with the usual stories of incompetence in leadership, no significant victories had been won, and "the boys" had been gone long enough to miss the harvest. Its costing us a fortune and nothing is getting accomplished -- is it worth it?
