Fold3 has numerous letters from Acee to leading commanders (Polk, A. S. Johnston, Beauregard) concerning his raising a regiment, but I can't find any documents that indicated he was successful. The attached Find A Grave link for is for "General" Erasmus L. Acee.

He seems somehow connected to M. Jeff Thompson of the Missouri State Guard according to this newspaper excerpt.

The only other reference to him I've found is in a footnote to Capt John Eugene Fola regimental drillmaster of 2nd Cav Regt, 1st Div Missouri State Guard

"Subsequently served in Capt Acee's partisans. A letter from him to Gen Price, enclosing a letter from Capt R.S. Williams regarding the Williams one pdr rifled repeating cannon can be found as item 61 in box 59 Thomas Snead papers, record group 109 National Archives. Later served as Capt of Co D, 2nd Miss Partisan Ranger Regt."

Edit-added, both newspaper excerpt's are from Memphis Daily Appeal.
