Thomas Kline of the First Michigan Infantry susposably wore this at First Bull Run. I have some doubts. A battlefield pick up?

Did the first Michigan have zouaves?

Some of the pre war militia companies that formed the regiment were Zouaves but new uniforms were issued before the regiment left Michigan.

I think reading some of the diaries of the 1st Michigan may provide answers if any exist.
