Here's my impression of a mid-nineteenth century mechanic (a person who works with machines). The program that I do at the museum is Mass Production During the American Civil War and the Role Civilans Played in the War Effort. Come visit when you can.

The pic of the 3rd guy is actually wearing overalls and not an apron. Are there any patterns or descriptions for the overalls of the period? Nice impression.

Nice group of examples. I like the bottom chap where the rain cover is obvious. It is a separate piece over the cap.

I am not aware of any information about bib overalls from the period. Actually, I was surprised to see them in the photo. What caught my eye in the photo was the civilan's mechanic cap.
I also do impressions of artificers, so I use different head gear styles and aprons (both leather and painted canvas).
