I would take Gen Winfield Scott over anyone if he was 2o years younger and 100 pounds lighter. His experience and know how out weighted all the officers on both sides.
Since we can't realistically imagine him younger, maybe you are on to something him lighter. Would the first year of the war have turned out better for the Union if he had gone on a diet in 1860? I never thought of that.
