A combined arms battalion of USCT infantry, cavalry & artillery were instrumental in inflicting a stinging defeat on Forest the Battle of Tupelo.

Meeting a battalion of USCTI & artillery chanting Fort Pillow No Quarter!" Forrest lost (+/-) 40% of his force & a long list of regimental commanders & other irreplaceable leaders. Forrest himself suffered an extremely painful wound that kept him out of the saddle.
