Maryland buckle

Curiosity is getting the better of me, before my friend passed away, he gave me this buckle,and claimed it was original. I've been looking, yet i can't seem to find anything that would lead me to believe it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely not original. The pins are wrong and the P is for parsley brass

I was looking at it and a similar one I bought and they're completely different. The E. Gaylord stamp got me thinking and curiosity got me wondering. Thanks again
