If you love to take photos at Civil War battlefields or Reenactments, you can now post your best shots in our Monthly Contest!
Be sure to read the rules, some rules have been changed and we have added new rules

Rules:
Each Member may submit one (1) photo per monthly contest.

1. The person submitting the photo must be the photographer.
2. Photo must have been taken within the last 2 years
3. Photo may be from a Reenactment, Battlefield, or any other Civil War subject matter.
4. Once a photo is submitted to a Monthly Contest, it cannot be entered into any future Monthly Contest.
5. All submissions must be entered before February 17, 2023
6. Winner will be chosen by membership vote. Voting will begin February 18, 2023 and end February 28, 2023.
7. If you won the previous months contest please wait one month before entering again. We want to showcase everyone who enters.
8. Titles or descriptions will not accompany the photos in the voting thread, but will be in the video slide show.

To Enter:

• Reply to this thread, and include your attached photo by using the "attach files" button, then select "full image".

Legal:

• Users submitting photos to the forum for this contest will retain full rights to their photographs, including ownership, but through the act of submission will also grant to the CivilWarTalk.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, and display the submitted photos.
• Entrants are responsible for ensuring that they possess the right to submit a photo.
• As always, CivilWarTalk reserves the right to delete any photos or content it deems as questionable or offensive.
• All current forum Terms of Use apply to all contest entries.

@ami I have a good question. On another thread of 'Then and Now' @Johnny Shafto put a drone shot up showing Little Round Top. I had never seen one of these shots in any photo contest, and wanted clarity for other members whether they qualify? Thanks,

I can't take credit for that marvelous drone image which was actually posted by @EHParks. Although I have never personally used a drone for photography it is my understanding that rather than peering through a viewfinder, or at a screen on the camera itself, you are seeing the image on a remote screen. Essentially the photographer is still finding and composing the photograph in the same way. For this reason I would assume this would qualify.

As long as the photo is taken legally. Many areas don't allow drones or only certain people may fly drones. So yes drone photos are allowed.
