It seems to be apple time. Love them so many ways. This is old country recipe.
Maple Apples
8 tart apple
1 cup soft maple sugar
1/1/2 cups boiling water
Pare and core apples and place in shallow baking dish. Fill the center of the apples with soft maple sugar allowing 2 tablespoons of sugar for each apple. Put water in bottom of dish and bake at moderate temperature (325) for 60 to 90 minutes until apples are soft, basting frequently with syrup made by the melting sugar and the water. Serve warm with cream poured over the top.
