During my last Europe trip (2001), I got to watch Ben-Hur dubbed into Italian (I slept through part of it) and Patton dubbed into French. I was amused by the profanity translations in the latter! In the case of Patton, it was pouring rain outside and I was trying to dry a very soggy tent in the hotel room, so I was kind of stuck. If it hadn't been so wet, I'd have been out exploring the town on foot.
Like @Waterloo50, I much prefer the original language with subtitles to dubbed dialogue. However, if the original is in a language I know, I try to avoid looking at the subtitles, which usually aren't all that accurate a translation.
