An 1848 Tyron in original .54 caliber configuration. My father is rather happy with it.

The theme for the tool show was the favorite tool purchased in the last year. Though almost no one stayed with the display theme.

There have been a large number of M1841's to hit the market up here in the last couple years and they run gamut of quality and manufacture.

Mine is a Harper's Ferry, converted to .58. Hoping to use it for deer hunting one day (been using an 1853 Enfield and an 1863 Sharps Carbine to date), but need to work out some issues with using a Minie ball (bore is .594 despite the deep rifling it has). Gonna try using a patched ball instead and see if that works better but haven't been able to devote the time to it this year. Hopefully it'll be ready for the hunt next year. Can't think of a more awesome way to hunt than using these ACW arms.
