Looking to buy a sword

Hi All, I'm looking to purchase a nice honest 1860 Cavalry Sword to round out my collection, it doesn't have to be a rare maker or anything special just a nice example of a civil war sword. aside from eBay are there any decent sellers or websites?

As you say this is to round out your collection, take your time and spend a few hours going through the list of dealers. Based on your budget narrow down possible choices.

OK - that opens it up to a whole host of possibilities. I would google Model 1860 saber for sale and see what turns up. There are a lot of sites with those model sabers for sale, and none are ebay.

I've purchased from Gunderson Militaria a couple of times and find them good to deal with. I think they have one of the swords you're looking for on their sight.

The CW shows are a great place. I have one coming up in Dec in Franklin. If you can decide on which maker you want I can do as I have for several members and find it at the show for you send you photos of whats there and you can pick the one you want, plus I can get you a way better deal as most of the dealers are friends of mine. Just let me know.

Thank you uvrelics but that is way too much for me to ask of you, I also checked Gunderson and they do have one at a good price but the blade is roached. I've seen better conditioned ones for around that price but of course they are all sold on most of the sites I visit.

I have done it foe several members @captaindrew and @scooter748driver just recently. It not a big deal as I'm already setup and I know the dark side as on Sunday afternoon is dealer on dealer crime if folks did not have a good show.

And if @ucvrelics offers you should seriously consider it. He found me a beautiful Model 1833 Dragoon Saber at a very very reasonable price.

I agree and if you can wait until after the Franklin Show, I believe that you will be a happy camper.

Wow what a great deal. Too bad I didn't know you 45-50 years ago. You could of helped me select a good Wife and helped me avoid misery early on in life!
