from either side on Sherman's March through Georgia. Can also be regimental history by a participant. Thanks.

The history of the 2nd MN VI by Col. Judson Bishop is pretty decent as it gives an account of the 2nd all the way through the war.

There was an account written by one of Wheelers men that is quite eye opening. IIRC the title was something along the lines of "Catching the devil by the tail." It has an excellent account of several brushes w/ Union Cav and hangings of Union stragglers as well as the treatment of CSA deserters and runaway slaves that they stumbled upon... shudder. I wish I could recall the author & title as it was an interesting read.

A good look at the campaign from a broad military standpoint is Campaigns of the Civil War The March to the Sea-Franklin and Nashville by Jacob Cox. IIRC he was the commander of the 23rd Corps. It includes casualties & units involved (to a degree)
