Fortunately most of those posters are gone for one reason or another. But every now and then I still hear those derogatories and wonder if Lincoln ever called his wife and his in-laws "slavers" or if Grant referred to his wife and her family the same way. Did he call Julia a Lost Causer during Reconstruction? How about Sherman who developed many friendships in the pre-war South. Did he call them slavers and Lost Causers? Would any of these men have called their spouses or their Southern friends Nazis, had actual Nazis been around at the time? Do you think any of them used the term "wh*te supremac*st" to describe their wives and friends?

Something to ponder.

If posters with a confederate bias feel that 'pro-confederate' is a derogatory, then maybe they should inform everyone what description they would find less offensive to their sensitive natures.

I agree with your premise. Lincoln wasn't a Radical Republican. He was focused on Union, militarily and politically. His emancipation and abolition policy evolved from a military objective to a political one. He initially tried to keep the South intact. The Confederacy didn't relent and refused any solution that didn't include independence. So the war escalated to a harder war. Lincoln like many though it would be a short war. He was wrong about that and Southern Sentiments. He was killed and the Radical Republicans filled the void.

Hilarious many Northern sentiments on here reflect the Radical Republicans. Oh I would of been anti Slavery and pro Black. No they would of been Blackphobic like their ancestors were.
