To All,

Just got through reading the book, Lincoln & The Court, by Brian McGinty.

The book covers the men who made up the Supreme Court during and after the Civil War and the cases it sat on judgement on during the Civil War and Reconstruction.

I very much enjoyed it as it was presented in a good reading style instead of the lawyer legalese I had expected.

It was worth the buy and I would suggest that in order to satisfy anyone's expectations about the Supreme Court meekly going along with Lincoln's Republican administration to read this book.

Lincoln's actions were challenged and brought before the Court on almost every important issue contested during the war.

Again, I suggest it makes for good reading and that you should check it out of a library if you don't want to spend the $27.95 I paid for it.

Sincerely,
Unionblue
