Eric Faust wrote a book about the 11th Michigan and later The Sixth Michigan Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. I didn't learn of this book until after I finished my research on Port Hudson. Anyway, flipping through the bibliography was quite impressive and he does solid research. The other thing I learned is that he lived in Palo Alto where Stanford Univ. is located and my late friend, Helen Trimpi once did. Anyway, he was a member of the same Civil War Round Table I belonged to (before I left Californiastan). I notiffied them of the above book and suggested he be invited back as a speaker.

One of the guys in San Francisco found his author's interview: link

BTW, I flipped through the pags of his book that were relevant to Port Hudson and didn't find anything substantial that would alter what I submitted. It appears to be a good read and will be next for me.
