Sweet Baked Goods Lemon Meringue

Ingredients:

2 rinds from small lemons, juice from 1.​
2 cups sugar​
1/2 cup butter​
1/2 cup cream, or sweet milk​
6 eggs, beaten separately​
1 puff pastry undercrust​

Instructions:

The rind of two small lemons and the juice of one.​
2 cupfuls sugar​
1/2 cup butter​
1/2 cream (or sweet milk)​
6 eggs, beaten separately.​
Leave out the whites of two eggs, which must be mixed with sugar and put on top of the pudding just before it is done. Bake in a rich paste. - Mrs. H.​

Donna. Thanks for sharing your lemon meringue pie recipe. In my humble opinion, my grandmother made the best lemon meringue pie in the world. It is one of my favorite pies, next to a cheery pie. David.
 
Mmmm lemon meringue.. makes me hungry! Prob doesn't help I'm sat watching Saturday morning kitchen at same time as reading the food forum haha! Ooooo cherry pie is good too! I have a tonne family over today .. may go shop and get some cooking stuff ! Roast chicken dinner today .. now wondering what dessert would be good to have and have enough for 8 kids and 6 adults hmm! Will continue to browse the foodies on here for some inspiration! Thankyou!
 
This was my maternal grandfather's favorite dessert! He wasn't fussy about any particular recipe: he simply knew a good thing when he ate it!
