In regards to serial numbers. LeFaucheux at the same time as the US order had an other order from Italy .The US serial range is from LF202xx to LF425xx running at same time mixed in with the Italy order. The difference being shortened barrel to 4.25" and no ejector rod. As it turns out Italy needed at least 2000 in a panic. So they accepted standard in all ways, shortened barrel or shortened barrel without ejector rod for the first 2000 pieces. After that all shortened barrel and no ejector rod. The US revolver had no proof marks. The Italy had a variety of proof marks. Again many thanks to member lefaucheux for this wealth of info. Those of you who can read French check out his books.
