So I spent a few months researching other ancestors(John Jasper Coates, Moses Cook, Hiram Cook), I found even more than I could imagine. After plugging in with so much info thanks to family search, fold3 and so many other state sites that offer free stuff.... I found out a lot bout my GF on my moms side WW2 vet along with my grandmother. Both fireman 1st class. So learned about them, their service, but more so why I'm posting HERE....
was linked through my lineage to Richard Lee II. apparently no clue how prominent the Lee family from england were in VA and the early colonies. Richard, Richard 2, 3 etc. Lightfoot my ol lady actually knew about. So out of curiousity, I ran the tree back a bit and started cross-referencing on google. Then checked records and documents. For what its worth..... Richard Lee II(1647-1714) is my GF x7 beginning on my father's side. According to research, Richard II & Robert E are 1st cousins something or the other removed. I honestly don't know what all that means but it says that due to Lee II being the gg-grandfather of R.E.L. So there's that one....
I find it just cool to be able to factually track my line back that far period. like, 1600? wow. but let alone be distantly related to a major historical figure. Grateful because I have learned an immense amount. Some people unfortuantely don't have that ability at ALL due to period circumstances or was diminished due to record losses in early 1900 fires and earlier of the like.
