Ladies' Indispensable Assistant

"Ladies' indispensable assistant: being a companion for the sister, mother, and wife," 1851

I have this book, an original copy, I think. I love it! Being a former nurse, I can laugh at some of the remedies, others probably were effective. I've thought about taking it to camp with me to read to the other women. I think they'd enjoy it. I know I do!

Somehow missed this last month- we need Book of the MONTH here at CWT. What a great find, Mike!

You know, while I was laughing my er, well, laughing, thinking what a hoot our Victorians could be- had a flash of folks wondering what to make of products they'll be bumping into 150 years from now, poking around back here. It's not going to be pretty.
