Kilpatrick staff...

MOLLUS has another picture at the same location timed as March 1864, saying it is Kilpatrick and part of his division staff. Several officers can be clearly seen on both pics and three names are given: Captain Edward Washburn Whitaker, Captain Llewellyn Garrish Estes and Armstrong.

However there is Kilpatricks General Order No. 7 from 16th August 1864, in which he announced his staff officers to be:

Major E. F. Cook, 2nd New York Cavalry, Chief of Staff
Captain S. G. Estes, 1st Maine Cavalry, Assistant Adjutant General
Captain F. W Armstrong, 2nd New York Cavalry, Assistant Inspector General
Major Charles E. Hackley, 2nd New York Cavalry, Surgeon in Chief
Captain H. W. Dodger, 5th Michigan Cavalry, Division Provost Marshal
Captain Z. J. MacMasters, 5th New York Cavalry, Aide-de-Camp
Lieutenant E. M. Whittaker, 2nd New York Cavalry, Aide-de-Camp
Lieutenant E. Holden, 1st Vermont Cavalry, Aide-de-Camp
Lieutenant William Keith, 5th Michigan Cavalry, Aide-de-Camp
Captain George H. Meade, Assistant Quartermaster
Lieutenant W. H. Perkins, 1st Michigan Cavalry, Ordnance Officer
Lieutenant Jacob Bristol, 5th Michigan Cavalry, Assistant Commissary of Musters
Lieutenant E. S. Augus, 1st Michigan Cavalry, Chief of Ambulances

Either all or at least some have served in the staff before, including Estes (btw. Medal of Honor recipient).
