Kepi fitting high on head

I recently purchased a Confederate kepi from Bristol Hollow and it fits well except that the hat seems to fit high on my head as it often wants to fall off. I've tried putting paper in the sweatband and it doesn't help, which tells me the hat size is correct. I believe this is just the design of the cap and I must have a tall head. Any tips on making it fit better?

How long is your hair? That can cause a kepi to slip around on yer noggin. Some soldiers kept their hair very short (if only to control head lice) if you wanted to impression that.

If it is properly made there is a hat band that you can use to hold it on your head. That is why it is there.

Send a picture of the kepi on your head. Many times makers do not give the rear of the piece enough "fall" and it doesn't have the depth needed for your head, thereby riding high.
