Just For Kicks

OK, my movie would be the truth about Stuart's ride to Gettysburg. Stuart would be played by Kenneth Branagh. It would be told from the perspective of William W. Blackford; i.e., he would be the main character, so to speak. We experience the journey through his eyes, and can thus observe Stuart without losing perspective by having a Stuart-centric narrative.

If that makes any kind of sense at 12:16 AM.

Oh, and I don't know who plays Blackford. Thoughts?

Jason Lee ? from "My Name is Earl". Actually he might be a better fit (instead of Wahlberg)for the Edward Cross role also: imagesCAI3SRVZ.jpg

I think diCaprio would be an excellent JEB Stuart for any film. He looks younger than he really is - and JEB looked older - so he could pull it off even now.

Maybe a biopic of JEB and of Custer, parallel storylines - they were kind of mirror images of one another. It could culminate in that clash at East Cavalry Field in Gettysburg. DiCaprio could play both parts!!!!

James Franco playing Winfield Hancock -

who talks to Edward Cross ( Jason Lee ) about Cross getting
a star. Cross' response to Hancock " General, you can keep your star, this will be my last battle. "

This young lady would make a good Scarlett,

Nah a better one would be a real Scarlet-Johansson.

I like the idea of of the Battle of Franklin. What could be more of a tear jerker part than have Todd Carter get shot 8 times then die at his own house while attacking it. And the Picket charge of the west with 20k of confeds. Death of Clebourne, and wounding of many more I always see Hood as a shadow of his formal self, 1/2 shot away, and on drugs.

Anybody who would try to play Lewis Armistead would have to contend with the ghost of Richard Jordan. The Stonewall Effect is in play - like Stonewall, Jordan did a helluva job and died thereafter. Anybody would have a hard time contending with that.

Sam Elliott!
