I thought I'd bump this thread since there have been a couple of very active threads concerning Grant recently. I don't recall anyone mentioning the book Grant by John Mosier from the Great Generals Series edited by General Wesley Clark in those threads. A search led me to @wausaubob 's post above. I've read this book and found it to be a short, interesting overview of Grant's career, but certainly nothing in scope like Ron Chernow's biography. Have others read it? If so, what do you think of it?
I'm also curious if anyone has read the Patton or Stonewall Jackson volumes from this series as those await me in the "Read Me" pile. Should I move them closer to the top or not? Alan Axelrod wrote the Patton volume. I found his book on The Crater (The Horrid Pit: The Battle of the Crater, the Civil War's Cruelest Mission) to be fascinating.
