Just thought I post this for JLC fans. I am a Civil War artifact collector and was able to track this down. It is a bone ring that someone carved for Chamberlain during the war. This was a common practice to carve trench art from beaf bone to kill the boredom of camp life. It is believed to have been carved by a prisoner. I have provenance and history of the ring from the time it was in his possession when he lived in Topsham, Me. I have displayed this at the Chamberlain Museum summers and will continue to do so. JLC items are scarce and seldom come up for sale. I feel very fortunate to have found it and was able to bring it back to Maine. Enjoy.

One would think where I am a big Chamberlain fan I would have been able to get his initials right in the title !
I cant figure out how to edit it. Tough to get old.
