I watched and enjoyed the presentation by Dr. Robertson whom I respect greatly. Having read, General A.P. Hill, Stonewall Jackson: The Man, The Soldier, The Legend and Soldiers Blue and Gray, I believe he has cachet to speak about the History of Confederate Monuments and have his opinions and thoughts respectively judged and graded.
Alas, Mr. Levin's comment that Robertson should "At some point you need to know when to bow out gracefully." is just a continuation of disrespectful manner of discussing any issue that is contentious. Yelling, screaming, rioting and/or destroying Confederate monuments or attempting to drown out anyone speaking from a counter position, sadly is what happens now. Discussion seems to be a lost art and tolerance is in very short supply.
If we as a society do not positively address the issue of the fates of Confederate monuments, including views from both sides, we will not heal and move on. We are a country of immigrants; the dregs of Europe; slaves from Africa; religious groups seeking freedom to worship; people seeking freedom from Asia: as well as indigenous people all making up the fabric of this nation. E pluribus unum.
