Here's a photo of Admiral Dahlgren standing with one of his guns. The gun in the powder monkey photo is indeed a Parrott gun. rebelatsea is correct about that.

So were Confederate Brooke guns and other types of older guns that needed addition re-enforcement at the breech. Some guns had up to three re-enforcing rings.
