Information needed on prussian muskets

In my research on the 4 Statehouse guns in Columbus Ohio, I found that the 8th Ohio Independent Battery ONG was issued 20 prussian smooth bore muskets when they were sent to Johnson's Island in 1864. Can anyone provide me some information on what these guns were? The only thing I have on them is how they were listed in the ordnance records. since they were an artillery unit, and were only going to be on guard duty at Johnson's Island, I'm sure they only were issued older equipment from the armory.

To add to what Johan said, I have seen several "Potsdams" stamped with "OHIO" ownership marks.

Thanks for the information. From the ordnance records, it appears they had quite a collection of odd, older guns.

That wasn't that uncommon. 4th MN VI had M1816 percussion conversions, Remington Maynard M1816 Conversions, M1817 Rifles, "Bright Belgians," M1841, M1855 Rifles & M1861 series.

I have also noticed that in the listings of items in the armory, looks like most of what was left was either old or unserviceable. quite a few items where listed as unserviceable, and the few artillery pieces looked to be obsolete. A common part of the Ohio Quartermaster General's report was a listing of items repaired by the superintendent of the Armory. Not too many items left until ONG regiments were disbanded or reduced in size in 1865. That was one of the reasons they purchased 4 bateries of artillery in 1864.
