I love hats. Like to wear them. These are beautiful. Love the contrast of the old hats with the Hollywood versions.

Okay, this is for you, Donna. I've tried to stay strictly within the Civil War era with the photos and the movies. And I don't know if this is a colorized version of an old photo or a newly staged "look vintage" photo. It is definitely NOT within the Civil War era. But, as far as hats go, isn't it glorious either way?

MRB1863, thought you'd find this photo of a portrait interesting. It's of a woman who lived during the Civil War, Adelicia Acklen, with her horse Bocephalus. This portrait of her is from earlier than the Civil War, but she has an interesting history from that period. I'll post a thread about her later on today.
