Thanks for having me. I am from East Texas, near Tyler Texas, the home of the largest POW camp west of the Mississippi river during the civil war. My dear friend passed away and I acquired his civil war collection which included the attached photographs. I'm trying to identify the two men in the attached photos. Heritage Auction advised one of the men is a Confederate Naval Officer and believes the second may also be Confederate Officer. However they did not know who they were. Can anybody help me identify these two men? Thanks.

The person to the right looks like in the uniform of a Lieutenant in CSA Navy. The person on the left could be as well, but without the belt and hat, it is hard to tell...

Agree with E_just_E about the man on the right being a Navy officer, but I believe you've hit the jackpot with the fellow on the left, who from his sleeve insignia appears to be a C.S. Marine officer! Larger and clearer/sharper copies of these photos would probably be helpful, though, to allow closer inspection of details. Welcome to the forums.
