Hudson Museum

At the 4:00 minute mark, a Berdan Sharpshooter badge of Frank Cobb caught my eye, along with a photograph of sharpshooters, listing the names of Richard Wirts, Rupert Conley, Edward Southworth, Frank Cobb, Calvin Colwell and William Pomeroy. A quick search indicated that Frank Cobb was a member of Company C, 1st U.S. Sharpshooters, which was raised in Michigan, specifically in and around Hudson. That company was sharpshooting on Little Round Top at Gettysburg on the morning of July 3. William Pomeroy, for one, was present in that battle.

There is an early war Brady albumen print of Cobb on the wall just behind the display case. I have never been to the Hudson Museum but should plan a trip. I have several Co. C 1st USSS images in my collection that they might enjoy seeing.
