Here We Go Again "I WAS TOLD"

He has been selling on eBay as long as I have. In that time I have learned, words and photos matter, and you never want to find your listing being bashed in one of these forums. Early in the game, I received a message with a link to a marble collectors forum where my listing was being bashed and laughed at. I learned a valuable lesson then and there.....research, and then share what I am planning to sell and make sure it is what I think it is! As far as the rest of that mess...maybe it is just the Army in me, but nobody ever had to tell me to make my listings look professional. I am known to nitpick photos, complaining about folk's dirty fingernails, photos with different backgrounds, photos with dirty houses in the background, and, well, look at this guy's first photo IS THAT PUBIC HAIR on that dirty quilt!! Come on guy! Kudos to him on the 100 percent 5 star feedback though. He must be doing something right.

It's a jacked up listing from the grammar, to the item, to the "I was told". If one is going to sell a hunk of rusty junk for a grand on a public site, then he must get his facts straight instead of "I was told". In this case, the feedback is nothing, the listing is everything. The point that UCV is making is to never rely on a fanciful (or any) story about an item that a seller is trying to push.

Duuuuude....I'm joking about the feedback. His listing is atrocious and he should know better after 20 years of selling.

I don't know. Instead of perceiving the sellers as a little underhanded, may be looking at a lot of extreme optimists. That's rare.

I don't think he's underhanded just a Moron.

I'm paying off a 3" Shenkl shell that was found on the Daniel Lady farm, east of the barn. It is from the Horse Soldier in Gettysburg and comes with provenance to the Rosensteel Collection. Can't wait to add it to the collection. I would like to add a bullet in wood someday.
I teach with my collection, both in high school and at living history events.
