Here's a listing for a CSA kenansville sword. It's not calling itself that but it is.

Here is my source for swords of this type but it feels wrong. No roman numerals scabbard seems wrong but looks like a good fake. Thoughts?

It's a reproduction. Most glaring is the font for CSA.
Agree. The pitting on blade and scabbard is also un-authentic. The hilt looks too smooth for a sand casting. I bought one of these same repros several years ago ( for much less than the bid price of this one ) to use as a comparator because it is a well made repro with only subtle differences from an original. Maybe I will motivate myself to post some photos to illustrate the tells.

Glen - I went and talked with Comanche, and he says that sword is legit. He lives in my 'hood: https://biodiversity.ku.edu/exhibits/comanche

He has changed the spiel a bit, as the decades go on. The truth about battle sites is that the natives were likely to pick up anything not buried. True in all the English battles and arrow heads. Arrows were retrieved, armor stripped, bodies buried. Not less than silly is someone flipping swords with huge 'buy me' profits. Some **** me off for their immoral ********.

Cheers
