Okay, I'm trying to download from work my second great uncles pay cards, but, Uncle Sam won't allow it. So, here's my question. Does anyone have any knowledge of the CARD NUMBERS on the what appears to be the first page of the service cards? Two columns, on the left it's 1-19 and on the right it's 20-38 (at least on his), 1-8 is numbered 50311634, 50310543. 1711, 1799, 1854, 1906, 1958, 2008 (To keep from redundancy, I typed only the last 4 following 5031. Lines 9-12 are numbered as: 443117523, 47031843, 45988414, 46022885. It ends there, on line 12.
I'm just curious as to what these numbers are in reference to, and, also, I was thinking of making service cards for our unit, but I'd like to have it proper. I don't want to have the Cap'n penning random numbers just to make it look 'cool'.
Oh, and I'm not shouting 'CARD NUMBERS', I'm capitalizing because it's cap'd on the form.
Any and all assistance would be most greatly appreciated.
HA!!! NOW it uploads!!! LOL Also, my mistake on an earlier post. Looks like he was paid for use of horse, tack and weapons prior TOO Arkansas Post. Looks like after Parole, he was a typical (Dismounted) Cav "Infantryman".....been so much simpler to change them to 15th Texas Infantry...LOL
