I have located the grave for my g-uncle at Spotsylvania. There is a small cemetery for confederates but his tombstone is wrong. His name was James H. Glance but the marker is James H. Gland. Since there were no Gland's in his regiment I know its him but I cannot find out who to contact so I can get a replacement stone erected. I called the NPS and they gave me an organization in Fredericksburg but from what I can find out they only oversee the larger cemeteries there. Does anyone know who takes care of this cemetery?

The cemetery is owned and maintained by [FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica][FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica][FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica][FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica][FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]the Ladies' Memorial Association, 1300 Washington Avenue, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401. You may be able to hire someone who can correct the mistake. I was able to do that with two of my ancestors whose headstones carried incorrect information. You can not even tell that they were corrected.

I would leave the original stone in place and just have another stone placed at the foot with the correct information. The Veteran's Administration only provides stones if there isn't one, or if the original has become illegible. So you will have to provide the stone yourself.
