3rd Great Granddad Charles Quinn Thorn. Charles was born in Alabama. He lived in Franklin County Alabama 1850,1860,1870 and 1880 census. He married Elizabeth Carolina Malone. She was living with her son Charles S. Thorn (2nd Great Granddad) 1900 in Limestone County Alabama. I believe Charles Q's father to be Presley Thorn II.
I got to thinking that Charles might have served in the ACW. I got to looking and came across a pension application where a Elizabeth C Thorn applied as a widow in 1898 Limestone County Alabama. It was for
C I Thorn. It said he was a Private company L 4th Alabama. The "I" could be Q maybe.
Elbert Perry Thorn (1826) who I believe to be Charles Q's brother was in the 4th Alabama Cavalry company E.
Any way to know if this is my Charles and Elizabeth? If he served from Franklin County would Elizabeth had put that County, Limestone because that is where she lived when she applied?
Thanks for any help.
