Help with ancestor

Hello can someone please my me identify my ancestors parents? Her name was Lula Elizabeth Vernon. Her maiden name was Cotton and she lived in Mississippi and was born in 1882 and died in 1957. I would really like to research her family to find possible confederate ancestors

There seems to be info on Ancestry.com. 1900 Census shows her living in Noxubee County with her parents Bill and Nancy. A family tree shows their names as William Thomas Cotton and Nancy E. Flora Cotton.

John Ringo Cotton (1816-1873) & Elizabeth Robertson Cotton (1828-?).
Nancy's father, Gray Flora (1825-1889) seems to have Confederate service.
