The curator of the 103rd Ohio Museum in Sheffield Lake, OH gets inquiries about items all the time and forwards them to me. This is the latest. It was found while digging a ditch in Willoughby, OH near Lake Erie. It could be some sort of ordinance or something completely non-military. The pictures are not the best but they did think to provide the one with the measurement. Any help you smart folks can give will be appreciated and forwarded to the museum. Thanks.

You might be on the right track @Lampasas Bill

Here was the list of guesses put forth by the property owner:

1) cannon ball

2) end of a bar shot

3) weight from an animal trap

4) gate weight

I had what I thought was a cannon ball. Turned out to be an ore crushing ball.
