Welcome from Philadelphia! I've been interested in Winchester for a long time. You anywhere near where Rt 7 crosses the Opequon Creek east of the town?

I'm actually on the other side of Winchester, near 50 a few miles West of Rt. 37. It makes going to work harder but it's nice out here - especially if you have any interest in Civil War history. The museum downtown has a large exhibit of artillery shells, and upstairs other relics and preserved graffiti from the war.

Sounds great. I want to visit it someday. I have a past post about some land near Rt 7 and I-81 east of Winchester. http://civilwartalk.com/threads/battlefields-on-privately-owned-land.102994/ I'd appreciate any updates about that land if you ever get over there.

Welcome to the best history forum on the planet. I joined last year and I just wish I had more time to post. I used to work for Rubbermaid. They have two large plants in Winchester and I have visited your beautiful city dozens of times. Next month, I will be giving a talk at the Old Court house downtown -7pm Wednesday, September 21.
