I LOVE this! Harper's Weekly did an amazing job of capturing the era so well in their magazine. Love the center image, little kids making Valentines, young ladies thrilled and sharing the cards they received and the lady at the table is clearly trying to find the right words for her card. Love the little cupid boys dressed like newsies delivering the cards, too! It even shows the men in camp penning love letters. I wonder if this a Thomas Nast illustration?
