Thanks everyone for making these past two years enjoyable! I would not have stayed around if you all weren't so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks, Mike 1-24-15.

Time marches on. I had to go look and was quite surprisied that I've been a member this long. It just sorta became part of the routine to check in here.

Looks like the N. Currier firm got carried away in their excitement - that's going to confuse someone in the future; was he impeached or what!? Congratulations on being here longer than I have!

Thanks for everything you post, Mike!

These portraits of Scott are interesting, as he changes so much in them, even thought there is not a great deal of time lapse from first to last. I had a big DUH moment when I saw that he had fought at the battle of Lundy's Lane, because I never really connected THAT Winfield Scott with THE Winfield Scott. I will have to go and refresh my failing memory. My husband's family comes from the Niagara area, so I know Lundy's Lane well, as it is still a major street in Niagara Falls.

Poster child for your mom's favorite saying--"if you don't smile any your face will freeze with that frown"

Enjoy the 3rd year
War is serious business, madam! There is no time for frivolity!:D Can you imagine getting into bed with that face every night? Or worse, waking up to it?
