Good one! I have a pewter sculpture of Forrest riding fast with a woman behind him...haven't asked the sculptor (Barnum, a friend now) why..

That was actually in Cowan, on a retreat Bragg had ordered, leaving eastern Tennessee unprotected and the people unhappy about it. Forrest was cantering along when the woman verbally assaulted him. She'd been shouting at all the troopers hurrying past her door and pounced on Forrest because of his size. "You great big cowardly rascal!" she yelled. "Why don't you fight? If Old Forrest was here, he'd make you fight!" Old Forrest said he'd rather face a Yankee battery than that woman!

I'd try to remember that one, but both my hair and my beard are rapidly turning gray. And I'm only 38. Guess I've done a lot of both.
