Gettysburg reunion, 1888. Longstreet was approached by a one-legged veteran who hobbled up on his crutches to the General "and, grasping his hand, said: 'General, I fought against you at Round Top. I lost a wing there, but I am proud to meet you here' Gen. Longstreet's face beamed with satisfaction as he grasped the extended hand, and said: 'Yes, those were hot times then."

Three cheers were proposed for Gen. Longstreet "which were given with a will by some 10,000 veterans who had fought against this General from Georgia."
