Not my story, but one shared to me. Was a Saturday in August at Gettysburg during a Living History, camped in the Pitzlers woods near the Longstreet monument. Now shockingly it gets cold at night during the summer around there especially when you have been marching around in jeans cloth and getting all sweaty. So at night it's always good to have a nice heavy wool blanket to wrap up in. Well on this night there was a group of about 5-6 guys who fall in with us, camped on this slope bascailly with a prize winning view of the stars and the Esinhower farm. Well at one point during the night their first Sgt woke up to someone tugging on his blanket. He sat up looked around didn't say anything just laid back down, said this happened 4 or 5 times and everytime it was just as he was about to drift off to sleep. He finally sat up straight said "that's enough for one night" thinking someone was messing with him. Finally he was able to go to sleep. The next morning he woke up with his blanket comepltelty off as well as everyone else's and the blankets were perfectly folded at everyone's feet. Thinking one of the others guys pulled a prank on them they thought nothing of it and mentioned it to everyone during the day how funny their prank was. Well everyone left that Sunday except this unit because they were staying an extra day in the park. That night they went to sleep one of the privates woke up to his blanket rolled up to his ankles figure he did it sleeping but kept waking up same thing finally he got up and grabbed a different blanket and went to sleep. When they woke up again their blankets were folded up neatly at their feet. They have been back and camped in the spot many times since then but I'm sure they haven't forgotten that trip.
