Gettysburg 2016: After Action Reports

...

Absolutely. I would love to see that movie done, no matter in what way, even in CWT DIY fashion. Only thing is, there are much too few female characters ...

Well, if it's our movie we can cast it however we want. So lets add some vivandieres, a nurse or two, some women passing as men in the ranks ... whatever we can think of from the time. Maybe a Pennsylvania German woman could out-dialect Buster this time. Start working on your lines !

a heavy bavarian accent (ilse aigner's is light) is supossed to even murder german (i am from bavaria, btw)

american people (yankees) speaking german is funny - texans are an utter mess

she (faraway friend) is from hannover- she hardly has any accent (speaking german that is), so she's most likely the accendlessest (?) german you can get to speak english

Thank you for the explanation. Perhaps Andrea could impersonate a heavily-accented German. It's the movies so we need some stereotypes. You could be from Texas (just keeping the offer of a part open for consideration) - maybe nobody outside of Texas would notice.

You mean I could say "Djenerell Longshtreet Liebling"? Zhe hole time?

Hah, yes, it's always said there is no accent here, but that's wrong! Don't want to bore our American friends, but for example a Hannoverian doesn't say "ein", we say "aan".
Oh, and "Airplane" is one of my favorite movies: "Spein muss er hoit, spein!"
Sorry for being impolite, friends, could not resist!

that's 'schbeim' btw :D

edit: ajusted bavarian spelling

It's all very discreet. I know people who know people.

I'm now thinking "Gettysburg: The Musical" but maybe with a Cecil DeMille feel. It's time for this country to make it's films great again !
Oh yes, "Gettysburg - the musical" will be a huge success! I can already imagine the great Lee solo in the end "It's all my fault" ... there was nothing comparable since "Don't cry for me Argentina"!
